Say not thou knew the nature of a man,
Whilst knowing not the nature of thy thought.
Dost not thou know such thought is of a plan
Which not thine own, should one day be untaught?
Though thou art vaccinated well against
The recognition of such ill intent,
Thine own cognition likewise is dispensed
Away from that such thoughts misrepresent.
But who then are thy lords, that shan’t thou see
Such twisting evil as through thee hath spun?
What are such words, as should so guarantee
That never shall such evil be undone:
Such lies, as evil men have told to thee;
Such damage, as their serpent’s words decree.

I like this a lot David, especially the last two lines, it’s so very very true.

Returning to this comment I made 2.5 years ago… hmm I can tell what I feel about the lies, the reference to the bible come clear to me in the serpent’s voice. However I feel that the lords to serve might be those of greed that might lure you with a tempting web, that maybe turns to be a golden cage. But I guess the lies can be any temptation that change a human’s soul. At least on one level that is how the poem speak to me today..

My thanks, Björn, I just came upon this comment that for some reason I didn’t see or for some reason, forgot to answer. My how time flies!

Yes, lately, I have been reading old comments, and I have noticed quite a few to which I failed to respond. So I decided that when I do notice them I will respond to them no matter how long ago they were made.

Thank you, this is one I am a bit surprised that anyone would reblog. Most, I have noticed tend toward my softer subjects, love, of course, but especially, rain, for some reason.
