This short post is in response to an off-line question; and this, however cryptic, is the answer to why I will no longer post political asides, regardless of subject, on this blog.  In essence, such subjects are decisive, whereas Love, and Related Topics ™ bring people together, make them closer, cause them to understand one-another.

…again.  I have tried all manner of cookie manipulation/eradication.  “Nothin’ doin’,” so to speak.  Multiple browsers on multiple platforms both on Un*x and Window$ have this behaviour, so it appears that the Automattic boys have “fixed” something again… possibly….

You may, my dear pirate, find this interesting, as well: Traffic fatalities go up wherever seat belt laws are enacted–as do, by the way, non fatal accidents as well.

It does not mean what we think it means, however. It doesn’t mean that belting somehow kills people. However, The fact remains that a well secured driver is less likely to die when an incident occurs.
