AnElephantCant ever truly know,
How certainly her “hubby” thinks it grand,
That put a smile on my true loves face,
Such wonderful attention, as first hand.
But greatest joy as do your words bestow,
Dear pachyderm, don’t misconstrue me please,
In spreading mirth as do your words with grace
The more affects him, well it guarantees,
Beyond so great a joy, as overflow
Most all the expectations he conceives.
Then writes he sonnets all the more apace
Although the Holiday so interleaves;
And though his sonnets flow like water, won’t
Misplace such inspiration if they don’t!
AnElephantCant match Mr Emeron
As a poet he is just a part-timer
Great thoughts intersperse
Dave’s elegant verse
The poor Elephant alas is naught but a rhymer

Ah…my sweet friend,
The Elephant who so often says he cannot
But the truth is
He’s done such a lot
Writing with words that bring
Me laughter with tears
Surely a friendship
That shall last many years.

But….an elephant
can flap his ears, wag his trunk
while we jump for joy!
I do so enjoy this other side of the sonnet coin. When I grow up, I want an elephant, along with a cheetah, a border collie, and bagpipes.
