I am not sure about this. It does lend some convenience to the reader; however it does spoil the stark “all black” look. Does anyone have any suggestions upon whether or not this is a good idea?

Add buttons that are black with thin white font. Add “dude!” Button as well as like, comment, etc. The black will almost give a “clear” look instead of opaque/obstructed appearance. I’m gettin’ my haiku on…running’ like shimizu no aki.

I am afraid I cannot do as you suggest, although css access might get me a bit closer to that aim. I might have to self-host, were I to decide to do so. I have decided, then, to leave things as they are for now. Although I have turned the buttons on for short periods of time here and there–just on a whim.

I was hoping for the “dude” button in the worst way.

I agree that you should add the button.

I truly appreciate having a ‘like’ button on blogs I read. I would imagine there are many readers who want to let you know they like your post without having to leave a full comment. Short answer is yes, please add. :)

I hope to do so in the future in a way in which the stark appearance is not disturbed. If I had my way now, I think I would also hid the categories and tags and substitute a “like” button next to the quiet little comment link.

I like the all black, Esthetically. Practically, I am unsure.
How about giving it a try each way?

I just read Gentle Annie Mae’s comment. Yes, please, my dear!

I remember the first time someone exclaimed “Dude!!” upon hearing me read a short story aloud. I felt I had arrived in the new millennium. : )

Yes I believe I will ponder it further. I have changed it back and forth a few times recently, although I keep changing it back again, so you may not have yet noticed.

I sometimes do not leave a comment but to let you know I have been here I use the like button. So yes, I think you should and I agree that you can use the black with the white font it would look perfect.

I would love to do this, but am currently limited with the “like” widget because I am not self-hosted. (yet… I have been considering creating a mirror site so I can test the functionality of wordpress.org’s software.
A nerdy project I am most certain would be enjoyable as well as somewhat vexing ; )
